Sunnyside Estate News

Calling all community bookworms

There’s more wildlife on show at Sunnyside – and this time it’s on our new book swap library.

We’ve unveiled a free library box for the community which you can see as you arrive, which has been beautifully hand-painted by a local artist.

We’re now stocking it with books and are inviting the community to join in. Anyone can take a book – and of course leave one in return – and we’re hoping this will add a valued reading resource at Sunnyside that can be enjoyed by all generations.

The bare wood library box was delivered earlier in the year to the talented Grisel Illustrations from The Art Shed at Craigo. She spent time lovingly decorating it before presenting it back to us earlier this month in its colourful new form.

The four sides are now resplendent with the flora and fauna that can be found around Sunnyside estate, with different settings on each side. From foxes and pheasants to butterflies and owls, the birds and beasts can be seen against the glorious riverside and hills that we enjoy around about us.

So whether you’re more All Creatures Great and Small and Watership Down or Mrs Tiggywinkle and Squirrel Nutkin are more your thing, there should be something to suit your taste (other reading genres will be available!)
